Coming from Genova, Italy, Rocco started his career as a director in Calfornia where he worked as a camera assistant for a documentary film shooting in Yosemite National Park. Later, he learned his trade as DOP on commercial shoots with Chicago-based director Ken Seng. While in Chicago, Rocco also worked as a PA and editor at the production house Graphic Mass. Upon his return to Italy, Rocco produced for J. Walter Thompson – Milan in the televsion department and shot his first commercial. The creatives at JWT were so impressed with his first effort that he soon began directing for the biggest production houses in Milan and London.
